Aintree 2010 - Day 2

A cracking but highly competitive card at Aintree today. The Melling Chase sees a virtual rerun of the Ryanair with Forpadydeplasterer and Kalahari King thrown in for good measure. A very hard race to call but Jack the Giant could improve enough to warrant place claims. Interesting to see how Escort' men fares up against Menorah in the novice hurdle, which should prove to be informative.

Ogee (excellent run in a handicap last time), is now back on a more suitable track and should go close in the novice chase, while Phidippides (showed plenty of potential on recent run) looks like one who might prosper over three miles in the Sefton.

The Topham, as ever is race to be watched, while John Kiely's highly rated Araucuria looks best in the mare's bumper (stable had one-two in last years renewal).

good luck....
