The 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup

The bells toll for Kauto Start in his bid to ratify his position as one of the greats and the best of his generation, at Cheltenham today. However while he is very likely to win he won't have it all his own way. The lack of rain clearly diminishes Denman's chance but it would be unwise to rule out a changing of the guard with both Imperial Commander and Cooldine having solid claims. I am looking forward immensely to an epic contest, expect Kauto Star to win but nominate Cooldine as worthy of a bet at 10/1.

As mentioned, the rain disappeared quickly last night and we are looking at good ground. It may not be as influential on the new course but a lot of pre meeting thoughts will have to be forsaken.

Nevertheless, I rate Alaivan a vastly superior horse to his rivals and fully expect him to win if handling the track. 4/1, a fair price.

Quel Esprit's reappearance caused a bit of a fluster in the billet and we are not sure how this will affect the race. However, I feel it might be counter productive and I am going to keep the faith with Enterprise Park. The 3 main players all have to deal with the going so there should not be any bias here.

The rest of the card looks very difficult but like Nomecheki and Meath All Star in the last 2 races.

good luck...enjoy...
