Well that's it for another year. Contrasting moods in the billet this evening with one quarter celebrating Imperial Commander's stirring win while this quarter is slightly deflated due a lack of punting success.
Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed a high class running of the 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup. Imperial Commander with Paddy Brennan on board eschewed any doubts about his stamina and collared the gallant Denman (brilliant ride from AP) to forge up the hill to a famous victory. Kauto Star had one of those days, never fully recovering from an early mistake, when to this eye he looked a little bit too fresh. An honourable mention to Cooldine who ran with great credit before losing out late on a merited 3rd place.
My punting fate was sealed early when Barizan went for glory early in the Triumph and Enterprise Park disappeared from view after obviously injuring himself. The ground as ever was a highly influential factor and unfortunately the rain arrived too late.
All in all, an enjoyable, if not profitable week. Looking forward to a nice bit of grub now to set us up for the journey home.
Thanks for reading and will follow up with a review soon ........
