Racing Post Chase

The highlight of today's racing is the Racing Post Chase at Kempton. The field has somewhat diminished since the beginning of the week due to some notable withdrawals. Nacarat bids to repeat last year's exciting win but will find it difficult to concede weight on the testing going. Kilcrea Castle caught the eye last time at Ascot and with winning form on heavy in Ireland looks the obvious candidate, but lacks experience for a horse so short in the market. Ruby Walsh has been on fire recently but will need all his strength to get Fistral Beach home (will he do 10st?)! Madison de Berlais' form lines give him a definite chance and stablemate Piraya must also have a squeak following his recent win at Warwick. However in an open race, going to plump for Oedipe who has been long in the notebook following his first run at Kempton in 2006. His winning chase form is off a similar mark and was supported before running a nice race at Sandown recently. That was noteworthy as Sandown would not have suited him and if he in good form and assuming he is not inconvenienced by going, he will be good value (@16s ) back on a level track.

The remainder of the card sees, Grey Soldier attempting to confirm the superiority of Irish novice hurdler form, Punjabi preparing for the Champion Hurdle, The Nightingale testing his potential while it's a pity Mille Chief is absent.

good luck.....
