Christmas Racing

Day 2 sees excellent cards at Leopardstown and Kempton with competitive fields making winners hard to find. Well Chief makes his third appearance of the season and one has to assume that David Pipe has him in fine fettle, which will give him a chance against Petit Robin who did not look entirely comfortable on this track a year ago. Argento Luna should come on for her previous run and looks to have been laid out for this race.

A pity Forpadydeplasterer misses the 2m chase at Leopardstown as he would have made the market for Golden Silver who impressed when winning at Cork last time and will be very much at home on the heavy going. Tranquil Sea is a warm favourite but surely is vulnerable over the shorter trip. The Novice hurdle gives Dunguib's rivals a chance for glory and expect Sweeps Hill to bounce back with AP on board.

The Handicap Chase is very open as usual. A difficult race to fathom but Glenquest, off a low weight should run well (will enjoy conditions and won handily at Navan last time).

A postscript to the King George; What more can be said about Kauto? I thought he peaked in the Gold Cup but yesterday's performance had to be seen to be believed!!! Roll on Cheltenham in March, where Denman will definitely have his work cut out!!

good luck....
