It is difficult to assess how good weekend's trial will prove to be, but today's Ballysax at Leopardstown seemed on first impressions to have been a good race. Fame and Glory looks like a smashing colt and won comfortably benefitting from J. Murtagh's tactical nous when he subtly denied M.J. room to manoeuvre Mourayan off the rails. Doubtful if it would have affected result and both look like thorough stayers. Mourayan finished well however and it is definitely worth noting that both Sinndar and Alamshar failed to win this.
At Newbury on saturday Vocalised duly obliged in workmanlike fashion and looks the sort that will be competitive but probably not good enough to land a guineas. Maoineach flopped again on her travels in a moderate race.
cheers......
