After the highs of last weekend and forthcoming feast at Ascot, today's fare is rather prosaic. Nevertheless interested in 3 handicappers who if not winning today should be worth keeping an eye on. Greeensward unexposed, nicely bred and looks ready to run a race at Sandown. Dark Mischief never got going when short price favourite recently and appears to be a cut above a competitive field (also give Macdillon a chance). Distant Memories was a gallant runner up last time and if the ground does not dry out too much has a chance. To complete a watching yankee it might be worthwhile including Triple Aspect at Sandown despite penalty.
Fantasia returns to France tomorrow and should benefit from extra 2 furlongs!! Stephane Pasquier may get a clean passage but will desist in anticaption of longer trips at the Curragh and York.
The Derby post mortem throughout the week focussed on Ballydoyle's tactics rather than winner's brillance. The degree of criticism probably reflects the level of bets struck on Fame and Glory with lighter wallets affecting judgement. The best horse won!!!
good luck.....
