Grade One Action

Heading to Leopardstown for a quartet of Grade 1 races and possible festival pointers. Last Instalment is probably the most talented on show and fully expect his jumping prowess to prevail in the P.J. Moriarty Chase. Conversely, Quel Esprit will go off favourite in the Hennessy despite doubts about his leaping ability. Travelled well last season before meeting untimely lapses, this season he has had two confidence building runs and puts his credentials back on the line in top company this afternoon with Ruby Walsh on board. Probably the classiest runner, it is nevertheless difficult to back him at short odds. Magnaminity is perhaps best of the rest.

Cash and Go may well progress again in the Deloitte Hurdle and should have the measure of his compatriots and fortunate Tolworth winner Captain Conan (good to see a Henderson runner here). Royal Bond winner Sous les Ciuex disappointed at Christmas and possibly needs further. The Juvenile Grade One is the most open with three cross channel participants. Difficult to asses the form but a competitive race should shed some light on the Triumph.

enjoy....
