Further Thoughts

The 2 remaining senior championship races offer differing prospects. Big Bucks looks nailed on for the World Hurdle. Impressive last year when beating Punchestowns, subsequent runs have seriously enhanced his reputation and make him almost impossible to oppose. Tidal Bay's victory in the Cleeve Hurdle gives him a chance of repeating My Way de Solzens achievement but he is not really one to rely on. One to consider as a long shot, is Powerstation who has twice previously motored up the hill at the festival to claim place money. He won impressively at Leopardstown to suggest he has improved this season and looks a bit of value on Betdaq (50s).

The Ryanair Chase looks altogether more competitive with Poquelin, Barbers Shop and Tranquil Sea having serious claims. The latter won well on Sunday and at this stage looks the one to be on with Chapoturgeon an interesting outsider if entered.

cheers...
