King George 09

The King George has an illustrious roll call of winners but it is doubtful if today's victor will be added to the list. Nevertheless it looks a strong and competitive renewal with Sir Michael Stoute unusually going in mob handed. Market leader Conduit can be opposed on price and on the track as he appears to need winding up from a long way out. Ask needs rain which leaves the slightly unlucky Tartan Bearer as the main chance (should benefit from M.J. on board also). Ballydoyle run three with Epsom pacemaker Golden Sword, the preferred choice. Not good enough on the book and one would think Frozen Fire has a better chance. Great value this morning but concerned that he is too inconsistent for this level. Look Here, a good winner of last year's Oaks should run well but probably will find one too good for her (not many fillies win this). While many great horses have won, there has also been a few outsiders triumph. Progressive 3yos have a good record and there has been much to like about the way Alwaary has shaped this season. He should be suited coming off the pace and may be the one with the crucial turn of foot.  In summary Tartan Berarer looks the likeliest winner but at the odds prefer the each way claims of Alwaary as a sporting bet.

The big handicap looks to be between the front three and of these marginally prefer Roaring Forte. Also going to remain faithful to Signor Peltro although he has place claims at best. Lady of the Desert and Desert Creek are also of interest at Ascot while the big sprint at York looks too hot (would have been very interested in Tajneed if it rained but expect one of the Nicholls' squadron to win)

Best of luck.....
