Irish 2,000 Guineas

Although performing disappointingly at Newmarket, it seems reasonable to assume that Mastercraftsman will come on markedly for the run (as in keeping with Aidan O'Brien's) and go off a worthy favourite for 2,000 guineas at the Curragh. His 2yo form on the track in varying conditions confirms his superiority and he should land another classic for Ballydoyle. As to the opposition; Delegator is the obvious alternative but his suspect stamina will be truly tested, Rayeni looks dangerous but is very poor value for what he has achieved, Recharge does not look as he will enjoy the going and stable is bang out of form, Soul City looked out of his depth in Dewhurst but may relish going and Pricewise has taken any value going that O'Brien second string, Drumbeat (not without chance) represented.

Elsewhere, there are two very good cards at Newmarket and Haydock and would like to proffer the following as multiple material, Reverence (good run last time and likes conditions), Desert Creek (serious eyecatching run at windsor from a serious yard) and Dark Lane (progressive). It might also be worthwhile keeping an eye on Miss Eze in first at haydock.

good luck....
